FC Porto | Restarts & Ball Exit in 4-2-3-1 & Diagonal Progression | Offensive.

FC Porto begins build-up from goal kicks in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with full-backs and central midfielders positioned deep to draw opposition pressure. The team progressively advances along the outside channel, then plays diagonally towards the opposite winger. The attacking midfielder's movement pulls their direct defender out of position, creating a free inside space that allows the winger to occupy it and help the team advance the play.

Central Defense & Jacobo Ramón | Progressive support & Avoiding shadow pressure | Offensive.

When one of the forwards jumps to press the goalkeeper, the free center-back advances to offer a clear passing lane. This movement prevents the forward from using their cover shadow to block the progression. It is an effective concept when the second line has pushed up and dragged their markers, creating spaces in the midfield that can be exploited.
